Everybody hates that women who explains to you how to leave a message after you just listened to the recorded greeting from the person you were calling. It goes something like this:
"After the tone, leave a message. When you have finished recording you may hang up or press pound for more options."
If you want to save your callers 5 seconds of utter frustration do the following:
1. Go into your voicemail.
2. press "4" to change your personal options
3. press "2" to change administrative options
4. press "3" to enter "record prompt" settings
5. press "1" to turn record prompt off.
Note that these are instructions for Rogers Canada. your wireless provider may have a different setup. if you know how with a different provider please write in the comments.

Thanks for posting this!
Although, just thought I'd let you know for the last step it told me to press 1, not 2 to turn off the record prompt.
Thank Phil,
I have made the adjustment above. My mistake was the following:
Once you have it off, if you find yourself in the menu again you will be prompted to press "2" to keep it off.
